Senior Embedded Systems Engineer

For the expansion of our team, we are looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with at least 3 years of experience.

A strong willingness to learn, take on new challenges on a daily basis, and a collaborative and proactive approach to task management are essential.
The ability to work in a team and a goal-oriented mindset are also fundamental.

The ideal candidate should live within approximately 1 hour by car from the company headquarters.
The workplace is Ferrara (FE), at the E.S.T.E. Srl headquarters.


Activities

The candidate will be actively involved in the development of embedded applications for the control of electronic systems in the Automotive, Agricultural, Heavy Duty, and Industrial sectors.
Main activities include:

  • Development of firmware in C (low-level drivers, BSP, and application software);
  • Development of PC applications and tools with C++;
  • Hardware schematic design;
  • Preparation of technical documentation to support project activities;
  • Execution of testing and validation activities for project commissioning.


We require:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering;
  • Excellent knowledge of the C programming language in embedded environments;
  • Good knowledge of the C programming language in Windows/Linux environments;
  • Good knowledge of C++ in both embedded and PC applications;
  • Understanding of software modelling languages (e.g. UML, MATLAB Simulink);
  • Good ability to read and understand hardware schematics;
  • Experience in development on ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-A microcontrollers;
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, spectrum analyser);
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Availability for occasional short business trips.

Nice to have (additional value):

  • Work experience in the Automotive/Agricultural/Railway/Heavy Duty Vehicles/Industrial sectors;
  • Knowledge of MISRA C rules and experience with static analysis tools (e.g. PC-Lint, Vector CAST, etc.);
  • Experience in CAN network communication analysis and related tools (PCAN, Vector CANoe, Vector CANalyzer);
  • Experience in implementing and validating calibration, diagnostic and communication protocols over CAN (XCP, UDS, KWP2000, OBD, SAE J1939, ISO 11783);
  • Knowledge of safety standards (IEC 61508 and derivatives such as ISO 26262, ISO 13849, etc.);
  • Experience in the design, development and debugging of hardware schematics;
  • Knowledge of Altium Designer for hardware design;
  • Extensive experience in driver and BSP development;
  • Experience with MATLAB Simulink/Stateflow and model-based design targeting for embedded applications (using tools such as dSPACE and Embedded Coder);
  • Experience in the development of control systems for power electronics or electro-hydraulic applications;
  • Participation in European projects;
